PLEASE TAKE THE TIME TO READ THESE FEW
LINES
It is important to understand
how acupuncture works before going through a long list of symptoms.
To
keep it simple,
Traditional Acupuncture works to balance and maintain your body's equilibrium
("autonomic homoeostasis") rather than isolated symptoms.
"As
balance improves, health improves"
A
better title for this section would probably be:
"what are the limits of acupuncture ?".
The first honest answer to this question probably is: _the limits of
the acupuncturist himself (training, experience, understanding), but
let's not make it too complicated!
_I see the limits of acupuncture in the "stage" that a condition
has reached. Just like in Western Medicine, there comes a time when
medication or acupuncture is not enough and surgery or radiotherapy
becomes necessary. At this stage acupuncture only becomes an adjuvant
(complementary) treatment and improves the quality of life significantly.
The great power of acupuncture relies in its "holistic" approach,
which means that you are considered as a person (as opposed to a condition)
with a personal constitution (idiosynchrasie), emotions and living in
a specific environment (climate, culture...). Each treatment is therefore
unique.
