Acupuncture
I studied Acupuncture In France for 3 years
with Dr Daniel Laurent & Jean-Marie Lepeltier whose school had
a partnership with Pr Jack Worsley and the College of Traditional
Acupuncture in Lemington Spa in the 80's.
I have also been attending regular seminars on Women's Health with
sinologist Elisabeth Rochat de la Vallée in
Paris to deepen my understanding of the Chinese Medical Classics.
I
did monthly placements in the hospital of Traditional Medicine in
Ho Chi Minh City in Vietnam in 2002 and 2003. We
keep close relationships with the doctors of HCM City as many studients
go there every year and we also have the pleasure of inviting them
to attend lectures in Europe.
The
type of acupuncture I practise is discribed in the UK as integrated
"5 elements constitutional acupuncture"
and "Traditional Chinese/Vietnamese Medicine".
I
participated closely in the production of a book
written by Daniel Laurent and Dr Truong Thin from Vietnam, "Manuel
de Médecine Asiatique “.
As a registered member of the British Acupuncture
Council, I follow a strict code of Safe Practice and Professional
Conduct.
Personal

Aïkido
I have been
practicing Aïkido (Japanese martial art) under the teaching of
Nobuyoshi Tamura Senseï in France since the age of 13. I received
the Black Belt 1st DAN in 1990 and obtained the 3rd DAN in 2005 with
the teaching professional certificate (Brevet d'Etat 1er degré).
I still practice regularly in Edinburgh. Aikido plays a big part in
my experience of Qi-Breath.
Art
Therapy
Prior to my acupuncture studies, I completed
a Masters Degree in Art with a specialized subject in Art Therapy
in 1996.
Art therapy is the clinical application of art and psychology as a
vehicle for communication, healing and growth. As part of these studies,
I attended regular workshops in a psychiatric hospital in France.
